Is it OK to head out to nature alone?
Words from someone who got unyoked solo at one of our most-remote cabins.
Here's something people hit us up about a lot: solo stays in nature. Maybe you're not in a couple. Or maybe you are and just want some time for yourself. Could be that someone cancelled on you last minute but you don't want to miss a nature infusion. Whatever the case may be, we're here to tell you that not only is spending time alone in nature totally beneficial for your body and mind, but it's also very safe.
Our cabins are all on privately owned property, which means there's either nobody at all around or someone trusted that you can call if you need based on the information on your app. We also have select properties with better reception if you feel like you need to be in contact with the outside world a bit more often (say, for instance, if you have young kids or elderly parents) and worst comes to worst, which actually rarely happens, you're only a few hours drive away tops.
Don't just take our word for it, here's a tidbit from a couple people who recently visited our cabins alone:
I described it to my friends/family/work colleagues as my "cabin in the woods" and how it honestly helped reset my brain. I always used the words "peaceful” and “relaxed” and “at ease”, especially when I was describing lying in the hammock listening to the birds and looking up at the trees. They were all worried about the fact that I was going by myself, but I let them know that never felt unsafe, and I plan to rebook again and again.

It's hard at the start to switch off. It helped me realise I am capable when I slow down. I'm an anxious mess and usually flit around from one task to another with carelessness at times, but at Paz, I was able to carefully consider what I wanted to eat (and could cook in a fire), get myself there and up that bloody hill in my own time, and start a fire indoors and outdoors! I doubt myself constantly and I was able to remind myself that's not true.

For the uninitiated, Paz is also one of our most epic cabins, with an epic hike to match — 1.4km with a 150m incline.
Getting out into nature is all about embracing the space around us. You'll discover new things about yourself - almost all of them positive, and come back refreshed and with a new perspective on how to spend time alone. Some of the most enthusiastic feedback we get is from people who take themselves out into nature, either for self-care or to give themselves space to create and think. Whatever you're considering using it for, we've got your back and you'll be joining hundreds of others who give themselves frequent doses of nature to jolt out of the 'real world' and step back into the natural one.
