Deployment 43: Me, Myself and Sky
Dawn, 2.5hrs North-ish of Sydney.
Enfolded by mountains that are dotted with friendly cows and plonked right next to a gushing river, Dawn is the perfect place to spend some quality time with me, myself and I.
For some it’s a radical proposition, time alone in the wild. But if you know, you know. And if you don’t, it’s time to find out.
For a start, there’s just so much to look at; rolling clouds and shimmering green hills that shift with every angle. And that’s before we get started on the stars at night. It’s the sort of place where you can let hours slip away staring out the window in quiet awe.
And out here is one of those rare places you feel you finally understand what that word truly means, and grasp that sense of perspective it brings with it.
I got an astonishing amount of work done during my time at Dawn, primarily because there was not a soul around to distract me. It also helps that being exposed to such radically different outlooks very quickly rewires your brain to think in new ways.
A spectacular sunrise ebbed in the East as I had my morning coffee by and listened to what the river had to tell me that morning. Dawn had just started breaking at Dawn. I already knew this was going to be a special day.
