Here's something you might not have heard from us before, but it's true: all our cabins are the same. Same hot showers, same kitted-out kitchen, same comfy mattresses and sheets, same epic window views. Same cookware, same fridges, same games, same In-Field Guide.
We're now onto our tenth iteration of our award-winning designs, which are deliberately made to be almost identical (with a few mod-cons for those in cooler climes) every single time, no matter which location you're in anywhere on Earth. So what's different, then? Well, that would be the nature all around it. Our cabins aren't the end of your wilderness journey, they're the beginning. Get inside and then get yourself out there.
The Bed
There's camping and then there's Unyoked. Comfy beds that you'll want to spend all day lounging in have been part of our experience from Day 1. You'll have the best sleep of your life out here; certainly not something you typically expect from a secluded nature session.
To aid you in the task of spending more time horizontal, all our shelves are stocked with books we love, including our own Writer's Anthology. The bedside has charging stations for small devices (no laptops or hairdryers, please) and you'll find a selection of tapes to listen to as you stare out into nothingness and feel your mind relax.
We work with local sleep partners in each territory on premium queen mattresses and pillows, as well as natural linen sheets. Have a lie in. Get stuck into a book. There's no timesheets out here.
The Windows
You might not think to look at them, but our big double windows are a foundational part of our DNA. Each cabin is specifically oriented around its outlook, which means you're guaranteed an epic view from all angles no matter where you are. Same window, wildly different nature each time.
Staring out into vast nature isn't just a fun thing to do, it's also scientifically proven to reduce cortisol, the stress hormone that you usually get from too many notifications or over due deadlines. We recommend spending some time embracing the stillness while watching the view change outside your window. It really is amazing.
You'll see proper stars at night and watch the sun rise from the morning, all without getting out of bed. We recommend leaving the blinds up for an authentic Unyoked experience and waking up with the sun. Trust is, it's worth it.
The Kitchen
This is definitely the most kitted-out kitchen you'll find in the middle of nowhere. Full gas cooktop, stacked shelves with mixing bowls, chopping boards, various knives, pots, pans and cutlery. Custom Unyoked enamelware plates, mugs and bowls. An actual fridge, powered by solar. Salt, pepper, oil, detergent, dishcloths... honestly, this list might go on a bit. There's also complimentary coffee and two types of tea.
(Our cabins also come with a range of gear for cooking on an open fire, from jaffle presses to outdoor pans, if that's your vibe. Check your In-Field guide for where to find them as they may differ by location.)
Heading out to nature can be stressful when you also have to think about all your cooking gear on top of everything else. That's why we made it easy. Whether you're tossing a salad, grilling a steak or making fajitas, just bring your supplies. We've handled the rest.
The Bathroom
Believe it; we get the most questions about our bathrooms than anything else. So let us walk you through it, it's going to be awesome. Our bathrooms combine most of our sustainable practices in one location; utilising solar, rain water and compost. That means treating them a bit differently to how you do at home, while still being way more comfortable than squatting in the woods.
The Shower
Our hot showers are standard in every cabin, powered by rain water and heated using electricity generated by solar. Given that we rely on the elements to make this magic happen, we try and keep super long hot showers for the city.
The Throne
Yes, there is a proper toilet out here. Crazy, we know. No, it doesn't flush, but don't let that scare you. Our team have spent way too long investigating different loos to find one that is environmentally friendly but also doesn't smell. We like to think after 6 years, we've got this nailed. Unyoked toilets use composting technology to process your ones and twos, before eventually disposing of them thoughtfully. Genuinely, we can talk about toilets all day. Feel free to ask us about it.
